Week 3: class reflection

Tonight's class was interesting. Having another remote student online--Eric--added a nice dimension to the experience. We did not have as much collaboration as the tool would allow; but I think that could be built up with experience. Also, the listening experience was great and I did get a lot out of the class from that. If we can only find a way to allow me to interact more with the class as a whole...

Hey, I had a couple of ideas: I'm getting a Canon HD camcorder on loan to make some videos for my Flash class. If you have the Apple video chat, it's possible that we could hook up the camera and stream the video in hi-def for you. the second problem is the audio for us to hear you. They took away the nice tabletop speaker when they mounted the wall speakers. Those would work fine now, but I don't know where the input jack is in the room.

I can see where the speakers would be an issue if you can't plug them in. I think it would be great if you could hear me (or other remote students). As for Apple video chat, sorry..I'm a PC user and don't have the Apple video chat. Although the video is nice, it is not necessary when we are discussing a specific document that could be shared via elluminate. It would be nice; however, during general class discussions. The video feed of Elluminate has been working fine. I don't have a webcam currently to reciprocate.
